Leaking washing machine; water would not shut off on fill up and rinse
Replacing the switch is relatively easy, however, I would caution all experiencing similar problems one thing. Before assuming, as I did, that the switch was bad, first remove the panel of the washer that houses the washing tub/basin. On the back of the tub, check to make sure that the tube connecting the tub and switch has not come off from the tub as it did in my situation. The solution to my problem of a leaking washing machine where the water would not stop filling on both wash and rinse cycles was simply reattaching the tube to the tub. If I would have checked that first, total job completion time would have been under 15 minutes. Hope this helps. If you need to replace the actual switch, remove the knobs, screws, and panel. Remove the wires, tube, and screw from the switch and reassemble new switch. That took me about 30-45 minutes.

My washer would not stop filling even after the power was disconnected. It overflowed onto the floor. Will this part solve the problem? I watched a video that also suggested it might need a new water valve due to a bad solenoid. Please advise.
For model number FEX831FS2
Hello Margery, Thank you for writing. Your Inlet Fill Hose PartSelect Number PS1524416 may be clogged or punctured or even fallen off. Hose issues will reduce the pressure and cause the water level switch not to shut off power to the water inlet valve. You may also check the Water Inlet Valve PartSelect Number PS524416 or Water Level Switch PartSelect Number PS1146954. We hope this helps.

My washing machine will work if i manuelly cycle it through. Replaced timer, same results. Could t be door switch or water level indicator?
For model number Fwt647ghso
Hi Steven,
Thank you for your question. If the washer is not starting, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door lock and switch assembly, the door strike, the magnet, the shock absorbers and the spin control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My washing machine will not complete filling in rinse cycle. We see the water flowing in, get to a certain level, but water flow doesn’t shut off (our well pump keeps running) and agitate/spin won’t start. Is this the water level switch? What’s my replacement part?
