Works great
I’ve had some difficulty lighting one burner for several months. Now I noticed the top half of the ceramic igniter broken off exposing more of the electrode. Ordered this replacement and delivery was very fast. I pulled up on the old one and pulled off the wire and pushed the wire into the new ignition and pushed it back into the hole. I did NOT use the supplied clip as I would have had to remove the burner as the clip goes on the underside. The cast iron burner cover and gravity keeps the igniter in place so I didn’t bother with the added step. Works great now. Burner lights now on first spark instead of multiple tries.

There was a crack in the porcelain not letting it spark
I used a screwdriver to pry the electrode assy. out of the burner. then disconnected the wire.
Then just connected the new electrode and place the assy, in the burner.
Then just connected the new electrode and place the assy, in the burner.

broken ignitor insulation; repeated sparking after burner lit
Disconnected gas & electric connections; lifted unit out of countertop onto padded table upside down. Unscrewed ~16 sheet metal screws for access. Removed bad ignitor by driving off retaining clip. Had to remove burner (3 screws) for access to install retaining clip on new ignitor. Reassembled, reinstalled. Works like new!

Spark Ignition Electrode was not sparking properly
Used a pair of pliers and pulled firmly on ignit. elect. till the retaining clip pulled off the bottom of the elect. The wire pulled off the bottom of it and I had to use a long- thin- nose set of needlenose pliers to pull the wire out of where the elect. came out.Plugged wire in place and snapped electrode back in place without using the retainer clip.Works great. Thanks Wade

stove gas burner would not light?
TURN OFF THE GAS SUPPLY & POWER TO THE STOVE. Disconnect the gas line & power source to the stove. Remove the complete counter top stove and place it upside down on a flat surface to enable you to remove all the surrounding small screws with a nut driver, then separate the bottom from the top accessing the retaining ring holding the ceramic electronic Ignition in place, remove the electric wire from the the old igniter. The most difficult part of the job was removing the retaining ring and installing the new ring.Job successfully completed.

All stove burners will not light or spark. Is it the igniter switch assembly, or spark module? How to take the top off? Is it from the back side.
For model number KGRT507FAL1
Hi Joe, Thank you for the question. To check the switch assembly you need to turn the gas off to range and with valve open check for continuity on the switches. If there is continuity then check the wiring to the spark module for broken or damaged wires. If they are good then replace the spark module.
To replace the module, Turn off the gas supply and disconnect power to the range. Open the oven door and remove the racks from the oven.Next pull the range out so that you can access the back of the unit. Then remove the left side panel. To remove the spark module you need to disconnect the wire connectors from the module terminals. Then remove the mounting screw. Slide the module out from under the tab, and remove it from the housing. Reverse the steps to reinstall.
To replace the switches,Turn off the gas supply and disconnect power to the range. You will need to remove the burner grates and the burner assembly's, they just lift off. Remove the two screws at each burner hole to disconnect the burner tubs. On the side panels use a flat head screw driver to pry up to release the retaining clips. Slowly lift the top watching you to not pull or damage any wires. You will need a piece of wood or something to support the top and keep it propped open. Next remove the knobs from the control panel and remove the two screws at each of of the panel and the two screws on the bottom of the panel, and pull the panel straight off. You will be able to see the switch assembly. The switches just pull off the valve shaft. Follow the red and black wire to the back corner of the stove. Disconnect the red wire from the module and the black from a plastic connector, You will just need to squeeze and pull them apart. Next remove the wires from the hook clips holding them to the side of the appliance. The reverse the steps to reinstall the new switch harness. Hope this helps!

None of my burners will light without a match, and they used to. What part number do i need to order?
For model number KGCT365A
Hello Carolyn, Thank you for the question. If all of the burners have stopped operating at the same time, I suggest replacing the Spark Module, PartSelect Number PS11742616. This spark module uses a high voltage spark discharge to the switch to ingnite the gas for the cooktop burners. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
