Evaporator Coil Froze up - not going into defrost mode so no airflow from freezer to refrigerator
Used our booklet that came with the Amana refrigerator/freezer (side-by-side). Removed the necessary panels to access the parts. Used nutdriver and screw driver to replace the three parts. No special tools were required to replace the part and they were easily accessible after removing the panels.
Working like a charm now! Thanks to Part Select for carrying the parts, as Amana does not sell the parts anymore. It's a great side-by-side and we were so happy not to have to get rid of it due to not being able to buy parts.

Defroster heater coil broken
Removed covers. Lifted and angled out the freezer unit. Removed clips at bottom and pulled out the heater coil. Threaded the new coil in place and replaced the clips. Lifted and hung freezer unit back in place. Re-connected wires and turned on the fridge. Verified that fan worked when cooled down and defrosted at end of cycle. Replaced the covers.
