Better than the original part
The part received was better than the original, a whole lot more sturdy than the flimsy part that came with the fridge. The staff at Partselect were friendly and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend this part to others with the same issue.

Ice Maker would not eject the Ice either by cube or crushed
removed the Ice Tray, removed the cover that the motor is attached to, The biggest problem I had was getting the coupler off the drive shaft. It would not tightyen up and would not turn auger. I had to remove the unit and take a hack saw to cut the coupler off
The other problem I could not get the wireing harness unpluged from the refigrator, and had to remove each individual wire from its contact. I had to remove the whole motor unit inorder to get the old coupler off.

Ice Dispenser won't eject ice cubes
I assumed the motor had burned out. I removed the 4 hex-head screws to remove the bracket holding the motor. I had to squeeze the electrical fitting to the motor located in the right rear of the compartment in order to electrically disconnect the motor, since the lower part of the fitting has a latch that prevents its easy removal. Then I could insert a vice grips on the shaft and on the coupling in order to (reverse) unscrew the coupling from the motor. I initially received the wrong replacement motor, but when the correct one arrived, it installed on the mounting bracket easily and I reinstalled the bracket with motor easily. It turns out a new motor did NOT fix the problem, so I'm not sure what to do now.

Ice dispensor motor would run but would not dispense ice at the door!
To get the coupler off the motor shaft I took two adjustable wrenches and slit the old coupler where it was cracked. The threads on the motor shaft were stripped closest to the motor.I took two thin washers and put them on the motor shaft so the new coupler would not turn down to where the threads on the motor were sripped.Since the threads on the coupler are left hand they keep the coupler tight as the motor turns the dispenser auger to dispense the ice.I was a bit difficult to unplug the wiring harness but got it after we used a screwdriver to keep the tab bent down until the harness was unplugged.

Ice dispenser not working.
All I did was unscrew the stripped one and screw the new part on. You just have to get it started unscrewing first ( remember that it's backwards! ).

Was not dispensing ice, motor shaft had broken
Once the part arrived it would have been an extremely simple install, however the part was shipped defective. Only 1 of the six potential mounting holes had been tapped. Leaving 5 without threading whatsoever. After demanding a refund I was told I would have to pay for shipping again to send it back and it would talk 7 to 20 weeks ........ yes you read that correctly. For my return to be processed and I could be issued my refund. Long story short I tapped the holes myself and was then able to install. Everything works but I will never buy ANYTHING from this website again.

Ice would not dispense out of the ice bucket
SUPER EASY. I pulled out the ice bucket and confirmed the motor ran and the axel turned - however the coupling was missing. Ordered the coupling - pulled out the ice bucket, screwed on by hand with minimum effort, put ice bucket back and ice started coming out the door. It took less than 5 minutes and no tools required.

The ice maker makes ice but won't dispense. Water still dispenses. What part do I need to replace?
For model number ED5FHEXNS00
Hello John, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the Ice bin to see if the auger is turning to dispense the ice. If the Auger is not turning you may need a new dispenser motor, PartSelect Number PS11739113. This motor rotates the auger. When the auger rotates, it pushes ice out of the bin, through a chute to the user. Hope this helps!
