Water and ice dispenser's were not working
Checked the water line from the wall to the supply port of the inlet valve and it was suppling water but no water beyond the water inlet valve, So I ordered a new inlet valve and installed, and it fixed the problem. Inlet valve supplies water to the ice maker and water dispenser filter housing. Partselect videos and you tube installation videos very helpful. Partselect troubleshooting guide also very helpful. Great company

Ice maker not making cubes.
First off you need to shut off the water supply valve that goes to the icemaker. Next pull the refrigerator from the wall , thats the fun part. I did not unplug my refrigerator when I did this . You can to be extra safe. At the bottom on the back side remove the cardboard cover on the bottom like four or five screws and set this aside. The water valve is on the bottom on the right side. There are 3 water lines attached to it. Having a towel handy might be helpfull. 1 line supplys the water, 1 is for the water dispenser and 1 is for the ice maker. These are push in connections no wrench needed. Remove the 2 screws that attach water valve to frame. Arrange it to make removing the 2 wire connections and water lines easier to remove. Wire connections just pull off. Mark them as to what valve they go to. Next remove the water lines. you need to remove a plastic lock that insures that the water lines do not pop off, very simple. Next push down on the nylon connector push down on the top of connector and pull on the plastic water line at the same time and it will come out. Do this to all 3 water lines. Remove old water valve and install new one in the reverse order. The water lines just push in no need to mess with connector when line is in reinsert the plastic lock. Reconnect the power connections. Align the water valve bracket with screw holes in frame and reattach the 2 screws holding it in place. Now would be a good time to turn on the water and check for leaks. You can check water dipenser but ice maker has a mind of its own. If all is good reinstall the cardboard cover on the back bottom and push refrigerator back where it was. Make sure the water line is not kinked. Aftre a couple of hours the ice maker should start making ice.

Ice maker removal
Once the screws were removed from the bottom of the ice maker, the unit had to be removed forcefully because of the limited clearance and the support tray under it. The next difficulty was to disconnect the old wiring harness so that the new unit could be installed. Having completed this, the install was fairly easy and the job was completed successfully. By changing the supply valve, filter and ice maker all the problems were removed and the unit is working properly.

Loud knocking noise coming from back of refrigerator when dispensing water. Very little flow. Problem was intermittent.
Shut off water supply. Unplug refrigerator. Removed lower back cardboard panel. Removed two screws holding inlet valve bracket to side frame. Pulled valve out far enough to gain access to water lines and electrical connectors. Used 9mm open end wrench to press in collars to remove water lines from inlet valve. Used small container to catch water dripping from lines. Removed defective valve and replaced with new one by first pushing water lines into respective openings, make sure they are fully seated. Reconnected electric wires. Installed inlet valve on side frame. Replaced back panel. Plugged in power cord. Opened water supply. Flushed about 2 gals of water through system. Note: water may not flow immediately due to air in water lines.

There was no water in the icemaker tray to freeze into ice cubes
Took off the rear cardboard cover, unscrewed the old valve, checked to see if there was enough tubing to fit if I cut the tubing. removed the 2 electric connectors, Cut the tubing 3, installed the 2 electric plugs, inserted the 3 tubes, mounted the new valve, replaced the cardboard cover. I checked for leaks, and very soon heard the valve filling the icemaker tray, and soon, Ice cubes again.

Will this part (water flow valve) resolve a water flow issue, present only when filter is installed? Meaning, water flows fine, when no filter is installed. Thanks.
For model number 106.51129210
PartSelect logo
Hi G, Thank you for your question. If it has been more than 6 months since the water filter was changed, it may be clogged and it will need to be replaced. If you have recently replaced the water filter and you did not flush it, this may be a reason, why you are unable to dispense water from the refrigerator. If the water filter is on good working order, then you should check the water filter housing, the water inlet valve and the water tubing to see which part is causing the issue. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

My ice maker tray is frozen as a single sheet of ice instead of cubes. I have defrosted the ice maker which solved the issue a few times. However, it makes one or two batches of ice and then freezes in a single sheet again. This time, it has stopped dispensing water all together. Water does come out of the fridge and pressure is good. I do have a water filter that was just replaced and the freezer temperature is not too cold. I also have an additional water filter that filters water going into the fridge from the main water line. I am trying to figure out whether i need a new inlet valve or ice maker all together. Thank you
PartSelect logo
Hi Nolan, Thank you for your question. When you replaced the water filter, did you flush the filter? It is important to flush the filter before using it. If the dispenser is not dispensing water and the ice maker is freezing over, depending on the type of refrigerator you have, you will need to check the water inlet valve, the ice maker, the dispenser control board, the main electronic control board, the defrost timer, the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and the evaporator and condenser fan motors. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

Hello! If our dispenser line is leaking but the ice maker line is fine, can I disconnect the dispenser side’s electrical connection and still use the ice maker side? I am wondering if those two solenoids are completely separate even though they’re attached to this same water inlet part? Thank you!!
For model number WRS555SIHB00
PartSelect logo
Hello E, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, you can disconnect the dispenser side electrical connections and still use the icemaker side. Both the solenoids are different. By disconnecting the dispenser connection, dispenser water flow will stop. We hope this solves your problem!

Icemaker overflows to the point that we had a cascade of ice running from the icemaker to the bottom of the freezer compartment! Is this control valve a likely solution?
For model number MSD2573VEB00
PartSelect logo
Hi Doc, Thank you for your question. If the ice maker has a steady flow of water coming to it when it is not in use, a component inside the water inlet valve has failed and it will need to be replaced. Part number PS11749668 would be the correct water inlet valve for your refrigerator. We hope this helps!
