freezer freezes but refridge is warm
refridge never cooled good, replaced termostat and circuit board, works great probably over kill but better than waiting on parts. Very easy job, drop over head control panel , remove thermo very carefully after unhooking linkage to freezer vent to fridge, be carefull not to bend linkage, you will also have to remove 2 covers that shield thermo conduit for thermo that go to back of fridge. Board is very easily replaced when sitting on table but 1 plug gave me problems trying to release the plug, {hint} move side to side instead of moving up and down . The themo stat sencing tube install is kind of trickie too , just straighten the tube totally before trying to remove or reinstall the new sencing tube, you can form it during restlall in the fridge . It was good to see that fridge cooling back down to 34 degrees on less than mid setting. YAHOOOOOO

The refrigerator would not come back on after defrost.
The refrigerator would not come back on after the defrost cycle unless I smacked the housing around the controls. Since it would come back on after stricking the housing I knew it must be a sticking relay. I used the exploded drawings from Parts Select to determine how to disassemble the housing. Once the part arrived I swapped it out in about 10-14 minutes. The drawings made the job simple. Thanks Parts Select!!! -neal

The refrigerator side of the appliance did not cool
I discovered that the freezer was not defrosting automatically and the condenser coil was freezing up blocking the flow of cold air to the refrigerator side. I first replaced the thermostat thinking that it would be an easy fix but needless to say it didn't work. My indicator that it was not a successful repair was the continuing blinking of the filter change light on the control panel. Ultimately I had to replace the control board assembly to solve the issue.

The refrigerator cannot bring down to the desired temperature
That was due to the evaporator blocked by the ice. Check found the defrost timer is okay. The next thing I can think of is to replace the Electronic Control Board which is installed in the fridge side top compartment. Ply open the face cover, remove the nut and screw that secure the EC Board. Pull out the cable, mount the new card and re-connect. So simple. It is back in order.

One day the freezer and refrigerator work well. The next, the ice cream is super soft and the refrigerator is not cold. The unit was not running at this time. Several hours later, all is normal again. Do you suspect the thermostat? Running capacitor? Thanks, tom
For model number ED5FHEXNS01
Hi Tom, Thank you for the question. Yes, I would agree with replacing the Thermostat Assembly,PartSelect Number PS11739232. Sometimes when the thermostat is defective you can if tap the thermostat and it kicks on and runs as normal. Hope this helps!

Refrigerator led light is constantly blinking. I've been told that replacing the defrost control board will solve the problem. Really?
For model number WRS325FDAM04
Hello Paul, thank you for your question. Even though the board is called the defrost control board, it runs different functions. The only other part that it might be is the mail LED light itself, which is part number WPW10515058. After doing some research other customers that had the same issue replaced the LED board and that fixed the problem. I hope this helps!

The refrigerator side was warm looked in the freezer side could see ice on the coil through the vents at the bottom. Shut off the refrigerator and did a manual defrost, ran ok after plugged back in for about a week, then the refrigerator side warm again and could see frost on coil again. Is there a way to check the defrost board before replacing it?
For model number ED5FHAXST01
Hello Doug, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat, PartSelect Number PS11750673. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. You can also check the Defrost Heater, PartSelect Number PS11740459 for continuity or visible damage. If both parts are good you may need to replace the board.Hope this helps!

I've ordered the defrost control board since the refrigerator won't stay cold. According to the repair tech this is the issue. Is it necessary to do a manual defrost before doing this repair?
Hi Rich, Thank you for the question. Yes we recommend doing the manual defrost before the repair. Hope this helps!

The freezer side seems fine however there is frost turning too ice forming on the top sides and front door shelves of the freezer. The refrigerator side is warm and humidity drops are visible on the side panels and bottom of unit. We've turned the refrigerator side almost all of the way up and the temperature seems to stay the same approximately 68 degrees fahrenheit. We've moved to a new location without water hookup so we are not using the ice maker.
For model number ED2FHEXVLOO
Hi Steve, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do i remove the front panel to get to the defrost control boad
For model number ED2FHEXSS02
Hello Catherine, thank you for your question. To get the panel removed so you can access the defrost control board you will need to first remove the front panel strip where the temperature adjustment lights show by using a thin screw driver to pop the strip out along the top. Use a nut driver to remove the control panel which contains the lights. There are two bolts on the under side and two bolts on the front after the panel strip was removed. The control panel will hang down enough with the wires attached to allow access to the parts under the cover. I hope this helps!

Could this be my problem why fridge side isn't cooling?
For model number Ed2vhexvq01
Hi Brock,
Thank you for your inquiry. I would suggest checking your defrost thermostat, your control thermostat, and your run capacitor before looking at the board. Either one of those parts are usually the problem when you are experiencing that issue. You can test these parts with a multi-meter to determine which one is not working. Good luck with your repair.
