FROST, ICE buildup along and inside the bottom of freezer and door
Removed old gasket by carefully pulling it out of the retaining groove. Installed the new gasket starting the corners first and then seating the upper and lower straight portion gently in the retainer groove. Total time for installation was at most 5 minutes. After a week no ice or frost has been found along the bottom of door or freezer. Note: the new gasket came in a small box for shipping purposes and the new gasket was twisted in a v for this purpose. Upon arrival, I laid it out flat on table overnight so it could cool to room temperature and straighten. I would recomend this procedure for a perfect installation.

We have a tear in the top pf our freezer gasket (this part is gross) and we are having tiny flies coming out of there. How difficult is it to replace the gasket - unfortunately i'm not the handiest person. Is this the right thing to purchase to replace?
For model number GI7FVCXXY00

Why is dripping water going down the side of the ice machine door so when you open the door to get ice out there is ice buildup on the bottom of the ice bucket. Have to keep cleaning it off. I did notice on the gasket of the ice machine there was a chip of ice stuck there.....thanks
For model number WRF736sdam11
Hello Kim and thanks for writing.
Sounds like you have a water leak that will freeze and build up the ice. It is possible that the stuck ice cube might have caused this, So give it a try now that the ice cube is gone.
If it still persist, in 72% it is a problem with the water tube connection #PS11740187, followed by the Primary water inlet valve # 12002355 in 14 % of the time then the Reservoir # PS12348075in 13 % of the cases. Please check those parts for damage and replace them if needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
Good Luck with your repair.

How does this new gasket attach to the door?
Our freezer is leaking water. bottom covered in thick sheet of ice, freezer light won't work, and when it is leaking water you can hear a sizzle in the back..tried thawing it once with heat gun. ice came back quickly.
would a new gasket help with this?
For model number MFI2665XEM7 Maytag Refrigerator
Hello Lena, thank you for getting in touch. Based on our research, you may need to replace the door gasket, part number PS11757265. The light would not work if the socket or bulb itself is faulty. You may need to replace the bulb, part number PS971228. If that does not help, we recommend replacing the socket, part number PS12749532. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of assistance!
