Worked perfect!
Couple weeks ago my Frigidaire over the range microwave started acting up. Whenever I opened the door on the microwave it tripped the breaker. After some internet research it appeared that one of the door switches was faulty. Replaced it with this one and microwave works perfect again. Relatively easy fix!

I have blown 2 fuses recently when my son has opened the microwave door before the time is up. For example, still 5 seconds left - he opens the door to get his food, and the fuse blows. In researching online this sounds like a faulty door switch - does this sound right? (i realize there's no way to be sure so a best guess is fine here). Thanks!
For model number FGMV175QFA
Hello Jeff, Thank you for the question. Yes, the most common part replaced for this issue is the door switches. You can test for continuity with a multi meter as well before replacing the switch. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

My microwave oven starts when the door is shut, it will shut off when the bottom right side of the door is pushed in. It sounds like when i push on the door a switch clicks inside the control panel area. Which switch controls this feature? It will start anytime the door is opened and shut whether microwave is in use or not. I don't believe the heating function turns on when this happens. Thanks!!! greg

Our microwave blows the breaker when the door is closed. If we reset the breaker with the door open, microwave turns on, shut the door, and the breaker blows. Could this be the center door switch?
For model number Cgmv175qfa
Hi Shirley, thank you for your question. It could be yes. There are a few parts that could cause this issue however. You may also want to check your two other door switches and your fuse as well. Good luck with your repair.

While running the microwave if I open it before time expires it will trip the breaker. There are 3 switches on the door, I was wonder if you’ve heard of this problem or if this is the right switch for that problem?
For model number FGMV176NTF
Hello Josh, thank you for your question. You can test your door switches with a multimeter. First, unplug your microwave. Some door switches have only two metal prongs extending from the body, while others have three. Those with three terminals will have a common (COM) terminal, a normally closed (N.C.) terminal, and a normally open (N.O.) terminal. Those switches with only two terminals will have either a common terminal and a normally open terminal, or a common terminal and a normally closed terminal. We are providing directions for testing a door switch with three terminals. If you are dealing with a door switch that has only two terminals, ignore the part of this test that does not apply to you. Using caution, remove all wiring harness leads from the switch's terminals. Use your ohmmeter to test your switch for continuity. Begin by setting your ohmmeter to measure resistance at a scale of Rx1. If you are using an analog meter, touch the metal tips of the test leads together and zero your ohmmeter by adjusting the thumbwheel in the front of the meter until the needle reads '0' on the scale. Touch one meter lead to the COM terminal and the other lead to the N.O. terminal. Do not push in on the actuator. Your meter should give a reading of infinity, meaning the circuit is open, and there is no continuity. Without moving the meter's leads, press down on the actuator until you hear a 'click'. With the 'click' of the actuator, the meter should produce a resistance reading of zero ohms. This means the circuit is closed and continuity is present. (switches with only two terminals do not 'click' when actuated) Keep the meter lead that is touching the COM terminal in place, but move the other meter lead from the N.O. terminal to the N.C. terminal. You should receive a reading of infinity when you push in on the switch's actuator. When the actuator is released, you should receive a resistance reading of zero ohms. Now, set your ohmmeter to its highest resistance scale and touch one meter lead to the N.O. terminal and the other meter lead to the N.C. terminal. The resistance reading between these two leads should be infinite. Finally, take a resistance reading from both the N.C. terminal and the N.O. terminal to any metal mounting hardware that is a part of the switch assembly. You should receive a normal reading of infinity. Any readings that differ from the ones presented here are indicative of a defective door switch that will need to be replaced. Door switch part number PS12071302 and Switch part number PS12071303. We hope this helps.

When trying to start the microwave, the error reads close door. if we put a Q Tip or a small finger into the door slot to give a slight movement where the three switches are, it rectifies the problem for the moment. Eventually the error returns and we repeat the process. I'd like to know which of the three switches controls the close door circuit safety net. The middle switch is a closed cct until activated when door closes to open cct. The two on each side of this switch are opened cct until the door closes then the switch closes the cct.

When I turn on the microwave the circuit breaker trips and the microwave cuts off. I tried a heavy-duty extension cord from an outlet and plugged in the microwave and the microwave cut off. Can this be caused by a bad door switch and if so which one? How many door switches are there in this microwave? If one is bad does that mean the rest should be replaced also? What is the number of the part number on the diagram of the microwave?
For model number FGMV176NTF
Hello Robert, thank you for your question. There are 2 of one type of switch and one of another. You will need to test all three. The part number of the switch of which there are two is PS12071303(NLA) and the other is PS12071302. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.
