Perfect, But!
Perfect fit, came within a week but be careful while installing this in the frigidaire upright freezer... the edges of the sheet metal inside the freezer are quite sharp, sharp enough for a good size cut. Other than that, so far so good one week in and my freezer is working like new again.??

freezer would run then thaw then freeze. tap on the control knob, it would start running again
Easy fix. I unplugged the freezer, unload items in freezer. took out shelves and baskets, Pulled off the control knob then removed all screws. removed inside panel, replaced part exactly as I took out old part. Put the panel back on, put everything back in place. Plugged freezer back in and turned the knob to 3. Let freezer run for a day to see if I ordered the correct part. Problem is fixed. Thank you, PartSelect for making it so easy to find, order the correct part and for all the customers input to make the repair easy.

freezer compressor ran continuously and freezer getting colder and colder.
Repair was quick and easy. I removed the frozen food in the bottom so the back panel could be removed. The temperature comtrol is attached to the back of that panel. It has a metal wire with a capillary tube on the end to sense the temperature. I just installed it exactly like the old one came out. Be sure and don't get the wires mixed up. Sometimes it helps to make notes. This was also a good time to clean the bottom out and make sure the drain hole was clear.
It took two days for the temperature to stabilize. I was anxious for a couple days that there was something else wrong. However, it smoothed out and the temperature control (thermostat) is now working properly.

Freezer had stopped cooling for almost 30hours.
Turned thermostat down and freezer began to run. Once it was at desired temp it shut down and did not start again. Turning the thermostat down again caused the freezer to start again. At this point, decided the thermostat was defective.Unplugged the freezer and removed the shelving. Removed the knob from the thermostat. Removed the nine screws that held the back panel in place and pulled the panel forward. Removed the assembly that held the sensing tube in place and removed the sensing tube from it. Depressed the thermostat latch which holds it in the back panel and separated it from the panel. Removed the electrical connections and removed the thermostat assembly from the freezer. Reinstalled the new thermostat in the reverse order.

Would not run. Everything in the freezer was spoiled. We were on vacation when it happened so we didn't know we had a problem until we got home. Big mess.
I knew from a problem years ago that the Thermostat was the likely cause so I ordered a new part and replaced it. Only need a phillips head screwdriver to remove the part and add the new one..

Freezer would only run sometimes by turning the thermostat to highest position fully clockwise. Sometimes turning it full CW wouldn't turn on. Once the freezer would run on highest setting, it seemed that it wouldn't shut off. I put a thermometer inside and would read -15deg when running. +15-20deg.
Replaced thermostat and it fixed the problem. Freezer comes on and turns off automatically and regulates internal temperature around 2-5 degrees.
The hardest part was extending the coiled probe tubing and forming it to fit into clamp without kinking it.

Freezer would not stop running and had frosted over
Pretty simple, take cover off back of freezer to access thermostat, unhook thermostat and replace with new one. It had wire hookups different from original part so had to look up that information. Turned out it did not matter which wire went on which prong.

Freezer not running for the second time. First time i noticed this i cranked the thermostat to the maximum and it started. It’s been about a month now freezer won’t run again.
For model number LFFH17F3QWA
Hello Scott, thank you for your question. We would recommend replacing the control thermostat first. If that part is not the issue, the compressor start relay and run capacitor. I hope this helps.

Hi Bill,

Replaced the timer and run capacitor and freezer compressor still tries to start but after about 5 seconds stops trying. What else could be causing it not to work?
For model number FFU17FC4CW2
Hi Scott, thank you for your question. There are a couple of other parts that could cause this issue. You may want to look into your defrost thermostat, your temperature control, and your defrost timer as well. You can test the defrost thermostat to make sure it is working. You will need a multi meter to test is. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Good luck with your repair.

I have a Frigidaire lffh17f3qw upright freezer that does not turn off, running 27/7. I'm thinking it may be the therostat control but i can find a part to replace the old. This freezer is about 3 yrs old but doesn't have a thermastat dial anywhere. Please advise! Thanks dwayne
For model number LFFH17F3QW
Hi Dwayne,
Thank you for your question. If your upright freezer will not shut off, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the temperature control thermostat, the defrost timer, the defrost heater and the door gasket. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!
