When our ice maker is off the bottom of our freezer has a layer of ice that is gradually filling. What could be the problem?
For model number M1TXEGMYW01
Hello Ronald, Thank you for your inquiry. The water and drain tubes could be frozen or clogged and causing the water to build up and freeze. Check the drip pan to see if it is full of water and clean the drain tube and main tube that runs from the drain tube to the drip pan and flush. The other issue could be the water inlet valve is continuing to send water to the ice maker even though it is turned off. You can test the valve with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order for a part, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Is there a video on how to remove the freezer drawers on this model once the front panel is taken off?
For model number KFFS20EYMS00
Hello Howard, thank you for contacting us. Use the following instructions to remove the freezer drawers:
1. Open the freezer drawer.
2. Use the small flathead screwdriver to pry the left slide rail tab and the right side rail tab away from the liner enough to release the drawer.
3. Remove the upper drawer.
4. Lift the lower drawer and squeeze the sides in to release it from the glides.
5. Remove the lower drawer.
We hope this information is useful!

Why is the drain plug needed? Part 22 is a flute tip shape drain plug that has a flat but basically sealed opening. This plug I have holds the water under the condenser and makes an ice block because the water won’t drain down to the drain pan. This seems to be a design flaw so I removed this plug and have not had an ice cube build up or leaking in a month.

Hi Dylan, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the drain tube channels water from the drip tray to the drain tube. It prevents water from leaking while draining it into the drain pan. Make sure it is not blocked. We hope this information helps!

I have the leaking inside and freezing up and wet outside problem and the drain tray is dry. I am supposing that the drain tube is blocked, but I cannot figure out how to find it. Is it found from the inside of the freezer section?
Thanks
