agitator would not turn during wash cycle
First raise the lid on the washer then remove the agitator by placing hands under the agitator 180 degrees apart and pulling up. Pulling up one side and then the other until the agiator lifts up and off. Mine was stuck tight so I had to really work it back and forth to get it loose. Be careful while lifting on the agitator because when it comes loose it could hit you in the face since you are over it while lifting. Once you get the agitator off use a 7/16 socket and 3/8 rachet and remove the coupling. Place the new coupling on the shaft, making sure to line up the splines on the shaft and the coupling and install the 7/16 bolt and thighten it. Place the agitator on the coupling by lining up the splines and pushing down on the agitator until it seats. Time to repair was 30 minutes.

Agitator will not spin
Agitator would not spin and it was going to cost me I've a hundred soars for someone to come and fix it. I looked on this sight and found out what I thought was the problem and ordered four parts to fix it. I was amazed because they came in two days later. I started withe coupling which was the cheapest part and instaled it and it fixed it to return the other parts I called the 800 number and they emailed me a return authorization and I sent it back so it cost me 15 dollars and five minutes to fix it.

Agitator came off of spline and broke
The bolt that held the agitator assembly on had sheared off. Had to drill out the old bolt out of the spline. After that, it was very easy. Just bolt the agitator assembly onto the spline and it worked like a charm

Old one had developed rough or little jagged edges on the side
Just used hands to pry open the old agitator from the washer. If one angle does not work try another and go in a clockwise direction. The new agitator had a new coupling at the bottom, so I needed something to push it out from the top, found a long metal rod and easily pushed it down and out. Verified that new coupling was exactly the same as the old one. The old one was good so I just pushed the new agitator down on the old coupling and it worked fine.

The wife told me that the wash just wasn’t coming out very clean.
The wife told me that the wash just wasn’t coming out very clean. So I went to check it out and found that the agitator was just moving freely. Upon closer inspection I found that the coupler had stripped.
I was unable to get the agitator free from the coupler so I had to drill out the inside top of the agitator in order to get at the bold that held the coupler in place. Once I got that out the rest was real simple.
Just bolt in the new coupler and snap in the new agitator into place. That can be harder that you think.
I used a block of wood laid across the top and just tapped it with a hammer to set the unit in place.
Make sure that when you take it apart to save the bolt and the old cap unless you ordered a new cap.

Leaking shaft seal
This sounds like an easy fix to replace the shaft seal after watching the video, Oh how WRONG was I.....Firstly the video and parts list show just pull the agitator off..... NOOOOOO the bolt (Screw) is deep inside the agitator and that has to be removed to get the agitator off.....maybe in some models they have changed this poor design but not mine....As the screw is open to all the water and detergent guess what, it was so corroded you could get a sock to grip on it. Only solution was to cut the agitator in half at the bolt head level to get a vice grip on the rounded bolt head to undo it........It doesn't stop there, then you have to remove the fins in the remaining part agitator to get get the vice grips on. OK so far so good, now try and undo the big left hand thread nut....good luck, totally corroded, tried penetrating oil, heating it up you name it, nothing. I had a 1 11/16 socket but you need a deep socked as the shaft protrudes too far...solution drill the nut in three places to break it off the thread....OK so far we are winning....Now try to get the split spacer off the corroded shaft, no way was that going to happen it did eventually span in half so had to buy that too.....NOW WE STILL have to get the washer off the shaft...Run out of space to continue...

Slow agitation from worn out plastic groves and broke coupling
This might quite possibly be the easiest repair I have ever done!
I followed provided instructions for installing the agitator. No tools needed for installation.
I used a wrench to take a bolt off from the old coupling as it broke away agitator. Basically taking the old one completely off was more complicated than installing the new. Installation was a couple/three minutes tops.
Clothes washing machine works like a new one now.

Exchange Agitator And Switch Rotary
Take out 1 1/4" bolt, slide adgitator off and new one back on. This job about 5 min. The rotary switch I took 3 screws off back of top housing and twisted old rotary off and twisted new rotary on. Then exchanged the 4 wires one at a time. About 15 min. For both jobs.

Fills up and drains dont aggitate
For model number WJSR1070A1WW
Hello Tina, thank you for your question. If the unit is filling, and will drain, but will not agitate the defective part might be the lid switch, part number WH12X1043. I would recommend replacing that part first as that is the most common part to fix the issue you're having. I hope this helps!

My daughter was washing a large pillow and from what she tells me that the seem on the pillow must of got caught on the agitator and ripped the pillow open spilling the contents into the water and tub. She stated there is alot of pillow filling mixed into the water and settled to the bottom of the tank. When she turns the washer on in various cycles the agitator does not move and makes a humming sound. She removed the rear drain and drained some of the water into a bucket and the water level in the tub went down. I don't know if some of the cloth fiber got tangled up around the shaft under the agitator or if it is the pump. Any help is appreciated....thanks
For model number WCSR2090D5WW
Hello Steve, Thank you for the question. I suggest removing the agitator and tub assembly to clean out any filling that would have got between the tubs and the agitator. You may also need to remove the drain pump and hoses to clear out any clogs. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
