the evporator fan motor was noisy and ran constantly
First I removed the two plastic fan compartment covers mounted on the top of the freezer. Next I removed the ice maker by loosening the two bracket screws and unpluging the electrical connector. Be careful, I burned my hand on the heating element located on the bottom of the unit under the cube tray. I then removed the screws holding the back panel in place and pushed out the ice maker plug to remove the panel. I then removed the fan bracket screws and the electrical connector. Two screws hold the fan in place. I also replaced the two blue grommets, at the top and bottom of the fan module just to be safe. Installation was in the reverse. Note: this model apparently is hard on evaporator fans as this is the third one in four years!

Motor vibration
I pulled the inside cover in the freezer off, pulled the motor out of the bracket, replaced the fan blade , motor, and grommet and that was pretty much it. Very easy to replace. Parts select was fast and had the cheapest price available.

Fridge not cold enough/Freezer Sweating
I opened freezer and removed Ice maker. Then removed top fan hood and finally the freezer back panel. Unplug fridge.Removed fan bracket and swapped gromet and fand blade to new motor. Put back in fan bracket and reassembled.Note: Tried without putting back together to see if the fan worked and it won't. Must plug all connections in including ice maker for fan to function. Fixed problem and fridge is better than it ever was. Part Select was excellent,Fast shipping! Thanks

Insufficient cooling
Like the other repair story I read about this part, the fridge was cool not cold (58* instead of an ideal 38*), and my ice cream stayed soft in the freezer. I removed the pannels in the freezer with a small socket wrench to find the fan burnt out. When the motor came, all I had to do was move the fan blade and gromets to the new motor. Closed it into the brackets and remounted it to the freezer. The part cost less here than at the factory web site and the fridge works great. Thank you PartSelect.com!

My evaporator fan seems to runs slow. But i donot have a way to meassure the rpm and or the air flow. The sympton are that i am getting 0 degrees f at the freezer but only about 50 in the fridge. I do have 120 volts going to the fan.

Hello Luis, thank you for your question. It sounds like the fan is starting to fail. If the unit isn't blowing fast enough the cold air isn't being pushed into the fridge. I would recommend replacing the Evaporator Fan Motor - 115V 60Hz WR60X10257 to fix this issue! I hope this helps!
