Proper part
I contacting a local parts dealer looking for a OEM part. They advised me that the manufacturer has discontinued the bulb and replaced it with a whole bulb and socket assembly. Completely not nessesary to replace the complete socket assembly. Pleasant surprize to have found the bulb through PartSelect. Great service.

Easy to Replace - Use disposable gloves to avoid touching the bulb
The bulb is working and we're hoping that it lasts longer than the previous identical one. We had handled the previous one contrary to the advice to use disposable gloves or a tissue to avoid touching it. Maybe that is the reason it did not last more than a few weeks. One disadvantage is that these replacement bulbs do not have the two levels (bright and dim) that the original bulb had when we first purchased the microwave. These are 50W whereas the instructions that came with the microwave advise using 40W. 40W bulbs do not seem to be available now.

Microwave bulb was burnt out
It is easy to repair the burnt out bulb if one has the correct bulb. Your website is very user friendly and your service is great. I was not able to replace the bulb at this time because our RV is at the repair shop for some other matters. I am sure the installation of the new bulb will go smoothly. Thanks for asking. Microwave’s Halogen Light Bulb burned out.
Our Microwave’s Halogen Light Bulb burned out.
We looked in our manual and were able to take the cover off to get to the bulb, but we were unable to unscrew the builb and the bulb in the manual did not match the size of the one you offer (size and part number were different)
We called 1-888-738-4871.
Gentleman who answered was very knowledgeable: answered all of our questions (PULL THE OLD BULB OUT) and assisted us by ordering replacement bulbs.
We (more importantly my wife) were very pleased with the result.

Our GE manual instructs to use no more than a 40 watt replacement bulb. The information on this site indicates the wb08x10051 has been replaced with the wb08x10057 of 50 watts. It it safe to make this change to replace the old burned out bulb.
For model number WB08X10051
Hi Earl,
Thank you for your inquiry. Where the manufacturer has replaced the 40 watt bulb with a 50 watt bulb it should be safe to use. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

All the comments left on the installation instructions where obviously for the two exterior lamps under the microwave, how do you disassemble the microwave to get to the interior bulb buried in the interior components? I did not see a video on this site as the answer to the one question noted.
For model number PVM1790DR1CC
Hello Mark, thank you for your question. To install the inner light bulb you will want to first unplug the microwave. Then remove the vent grille or cover and any filters that are behind the vent (if applicable).
When the vent is removed the lamp compartment cover should be visible. The cover can be removed by taking out the screw that holds the cover in place. If the cover is too difficult to access, you may need to remove the unit from the cabinet, or contact a service tech. Remove the bulb by pushing inward and turning counter-clockwise. Be very gentle. Replace the old bulb, then replace the compartment cover and grille. Plug in the microwave. I hope this helps!

I still have the original light bulb in my microwave. But even on low light it gets really hot. Is there another light bulb that would be much cooler
For model number JVM6175SK5SS
Hi Barbara, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, we would suggest checking the lamp socket first. If it is fine, the issue could be with the halogen bulb, part number PS2339783. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

The light bulb for the vent hood keeps burning out in just a few days.
I’m wondering if the connection is missing a mount. The two prongs on the light bulb just insert two holes and that’s it.
It works, but keeps burning out.
The diagram is too small to clearly see how it is installed
For model number CSA1201RSS 04
Hello John, thank you for your inquiry. Use the following instructions to install a light bulb:
1. First, disconnect the power at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel, or unplug the oven.
2. Remove the screw from the side of the light compartment cover and lower the cover until it stops.
3. Be sure the bulb to be replaced is cool before removing it. Gently pull the bulb from the receptacle.
4. Replace the light bulb. Firmly push the light bulb into the holes so that it is properly installed. A burned-out bulb could be caused by a loose connection. Therefore, push the bulb into the socket.
We hope this information is useful!
