6-Inch Coil Burner Element Specifications

This element has looped terminal ends and comes with a black medallion center. This element is a genuine OEM replacement part, has looped terminal ends, comes with a black medallion center, and fits most electric ranges. All burners are made of a heating wire that produces heat from electricity. Remove the non-functional burner element from the terminal block (or receptacle). Use a multi-meter to check for continuity. Check the end of the terminals for corrosion or heat damage. If there is corrosion or heat damage, replace the whole terminal block or receptacle at the same time you replace the damaged coil. Before you start this repair, make sure that the element is turned off and cool to the touch.

Burners on 53 year old range kept going out
When we bought our home less than a year ago, we had three functional burners on our 40" wide 50's classic Kelvinator (not close to standard size these-a-days). After a few months of use, two more burners went out for good and we were stuck using the back left burner for all of our cooking. I opted for the premium burners and made sure to compare my terminals with the ones online to be sure they mounted the same. I removed the burners and terminals, clipped the wires going into the terminals, and removed the top of the stove. I followed the directions that came with the new terminals, pushed in the new burners and viola! All four burners now work. I gave the stove a general cleaning and now my 1954 Kelvinator looks and cooks like it is brand new. It was easily the best $109 I've spent on my home.

no power to element/no heat
removed burnt out terminal block, installed new- I soldered wires instead of using wire nuts, took a little extra time, but I feel it's a better connection. I later found that my rotary control must have burnt out too, I swapped it with one from another burner. I'll be ordering a couple rotary controls next from this company. All parts were nice quality. Received quickly.

The right front burner element shorted also taking out the surface burner switch.
I determined that the failure was due to age and wear on the element. Therefore I thought it wise to replace all four burners as a preventative measure. First unplug from power! Replacing the burners was plug-and-play simple. Replacing the switch was easy: Remove the back panel, pull the control knob and remove the two screws securing the switch. Move the terminals to the new switch (one at a time) and mount it with the two screws and replace the back panel. NOTE: The foot bracket on the large burners were about 1/32" too stout and the burner element would not seat in the ring properly. I made a slight adjustment with my grinder and everything fits perfectly.

A stainless steel cover was over the burner when it was turned on.
I removed the old burner, drip pan, and burner terminal block. Cut and stripped the wires. I used wire nuts to connect the wires and used shrink tube to secure the nuts. Installed the drip pan and the burner. Hint: When turning the burner on use a vent fan or open windows or doors to get rid of smoke from the new burner.

Burner element failed
Plugged the new one in and it worked.
I did search out Frigidaire parts and there are other types tha may or may not work. Calrod burners are not all that unusual. I went with the real thing.

An aluminum saucepan had overheated and melted onto the element.
Unplugged the element and the melted on pot. Plugged in the new element. I thought I might need a whole new cooktop but a new element was very easy to find online.
