Latch was broken so dishwasher wouldn't run
I watched several YouTube videos on how to make the repair. It looked very easy but sometimes professionals, because they've done it before, don't point out small tips that would help a DIY homeowner. The latch goes easily into the inner door slot but there's nothing to hold it there. The videos show the inner and outer door being closed together without showing that you have to hold the latch in place while bringing the outer door up to meet the inner door. Any movement of the inner door makes the latch fall out. So I would say it took me 5 times longer to do this repair than it would if I was doing it again.

door latch broken
I watched the convenient video and saved an old machine that I've grown to love. Plus I didn't have to pay a repair service or have to buy a new machine.

How do you install this part?
Hi Andrea,
Thank you for your question. First unplug your appliance. Then unscrew the knob from underneath the latch. You will open your door and remove the screws around the door to separate the inner and outer door panels. The two screws at the bottom of your door are different so make sure to remember which one goes where. Lift your door back into a closed position but not entirely closing the door. Gently pull down the front panel of your door. Now open the latch half way and then press on the release on the back of the part to remove the old latch assembly from your door. Then reverse this process to put your machine back together. Good luck with your repair.

My dishwasher starts as soon as the dial moves to the run position. The latch does not respond to either the or stop the dish washer. The dishwasher will keep running if you move the latch to temporally stop the cycle to put in another item to be washed
For model number GSD2200G00WW
Hello Bill, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model you have provided and we would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the door latch kit, the interlock switch, the timer, and the push button switch kit. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. We also recommend checking the wiring for any visible damage. We hope this helps.
