Plastic Auger on the Ice Maker broke.
Was very confused when the part sent out looked nothing like the one it would replace. There was a note in the package saying that this would replace it but I was doubtful. Suggest that it be made very clear that this is an upgraded part to replace a bad design.Had not problem once i checked the website and found this to be correct replacement part. I didn't have any problem with the order of the crusher blades as once I removed the shaft nut I slid all of the parts in order onto the awl. Then it was a simple matter of sliding them off of the awl onto the auger shaft. The new metal auger works much better than the plastic one it replaces.

the original auger was plastic and broke
Pretty easy to replace..just take your time with the ice crusher but the teeth are labeled a..b..and c. This auger is steel so I should have no problems with this breaking. I received this item less than 24 hrs after I ordered it! On Christmas eve...Thanks to all of you

Our current auger is giving our ice a bad taste. The metal is perhaps oxidizing. Hoping replacing it will help. What is this auger made out of? Do you think it will help with the bad taste?
For model number ED22PQXDW02
Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for your question. The auger is made of metal. If your ice has a bad taste, make sure that you are keeping the refrigerator clean and that you place a fresh box of baking soda inside every couple of months. If ice is left inside the refrigerator for long periods of time without being used, they will absorb food odors. If the auger is oxidizing, it may be causing the bad taste you are experiencing. If you would like to place an order for it, please call our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
