Broil element wasn't working...
I pulled my unit out of the wall and noticed that the insulation around the top broiler element was a bit brown. Closer inspection revealed that the element had shorted somehow to the oven itself and caused the element to become non-functional. I tried measuring the resistance first, and it was within typical values for the other elements, but I decided to replace the element anyway.
I ordered from PD and the part arrived just a few days letter by regular shipping. I undid the screws holding in the element, undid the wire connectors and replaced the broken element with the new one. The element worked like a charm and I was back in business for cooking.

Noticed oven was heating but upper element not coming on.
Removed two screws holding broiler element. Released two spring hangers on near the front of the element. Pulled element away from oven and pulled two wire connectors off. Simply reverse process to install new one. Wasn't the problem.

Broiler element is not working. There is no visual damage to the element. baking heat works fine. Any suggestions???
For model number CPCS389EC3
Hello Warren, thank you for your question. Before replacing the broil element, check for continuity with a multimeter.
Steps:
1- Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the power source before beginning. Locate and inspect the element’s terminals.
2- Access them by removing the back panel of your oven. Inspect for signs of overheating or damage.
3- If you find no issues, remove the element from your range to test it.
4- Touch the element’s terminals with the probes using a multimeter on the Rx1 setting. The reading of a functional element varies between models but will probably fall between 19 and 115 ohms. To find what reading a functional element from your model will produce, check your owner's manual.
5- If your element does not have continuity or is visually damaged, you will need a replacement broil element part number PS3506411. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
