Ice dispenser continued to dispense ice unless I turned it off all together
Removed the section of refrigerator that dispenses ice and water. Necessary to pry with object that does not scratch like plastic scraper. Then pull out and replace the switch Micro -- only has one Phillips screw holding switch. Replaced the dispenser and snapped on the New button assembly I broke and job was done. Works perfectly now..

When you try to dispense ice the ice comes out but it will not shut off? It keeps coming out untill the switch or what ever releases? What do i need to do??
For model number LFX31925ST
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. The issue could be the micro switch in the dispenser. The dispenser micro switch is a momentary contact switch that when activated it will supply power to the auger motor and the solenoid for the dispenser door. The switch sits behind the pad or lever that is pressed to dispense ice. You will need to remove power to the appliance and then remove the control panel cover to access the switch. You can check the continuity of the switch with a multi-meter. If the switch checks out fine, you will need to check the dispenser control board and the dispenser actuator.
I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My ice lever on fridge broke off. Do i need the water micro switch the ice micro switch and the ice lever. Or can i just get the ice lever
For model number LFX31925ST
Hello Mark, thank you for your question. If the ice lever itself has broken, all you should need to replace is the lever itself, part number ABH74219702. I would also recommend checking the Dispenser Funnel Guide MDR62062701 and the Dispenser Front Panel MCK66542801 to be sure that the parts the lever attaches to are not broken as well. I hope this helps!

I have a problem with the ice dispenser it doesn't dispense out i replaced the ice auger motor and i get the same results the ice auger motor doesn run would my problem be this micro switch the water works fine out of the front of fridge is there 2 separate micro switches on this model one for the water and ice dispenser it does make ice just doesn't dispense it and how would i go about replacing the switch if it is please let me know
For model number LFX31945ST
Hi Stephen, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information you would have to remove the entire dispenser housing to do that. To do that you would need a flat tool or a putty knife so that you could pop it out of place. There are little tabs all around the perimeter that hold it in. If you use a putty knife I would suggest taking a piece of masking tap to dull the edge a bit. That may help protect your appliance from any scratching. Once you have that dispenser housing off, the switches would be right there behind it for you to change out. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I need to fix an internal water dispenser and LG gave me this part number. The description says it is for the ice dispenser. Is this the same part for the water dispenser?
For model number LMWC23626S
Hello Malie, thank you for contacting us. The switch, part number PS3529276, is a dispenser switch. The descriptions given are generic. Based on the model, the switch can be used for both the ice and the water dispenser switches. We hope this helps.

I was going to replace the water filter and took it out and through it in the trash. I did replace with new filter the next day. I did not turn off the ice maker and now it doesn’t make ice. What did it do burn out the switch?
For model number LFDS22520S
Hello Eugene, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, the issue does not seem to be with the dispenser switch. If the water filter was just replaced or installed, ensure the filter was installed correctly. If the water filter is not seated properly, it can cause no or low ice production. Also, it is possible that the water line was not completely purged and there was still air in the system. This will allow water to drip through the fill tub going to the icemaker, causing the fill tube to freeze. Use a hair dryer to thaw out the fill tube that fills the icemaker up with water so that water can go through the tube and make it into the icemaker. We hope this information helps!

Water overfills the ice cube tray and forms a block of ice in the holding tray underneath
For model number 79572043112
Hi Gary,
Thank you for your question. If there is water overflowing the ice cube tray, check the water inlet valve to see if it is malfunctioning. If a component in the valve has failed, it may cause the water to continue to run. Also, a water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 psi to work properly. If the water pressure is too low, the valve may not close fully when the power is shut off and this will cause the water to overflow. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The ice maker makes ice and wants to dispense ice but the tray looks like it is stuck and twisting. Found some online videos where this occurs frequently and customers have to rig it so the wheel doesn't slip out, thus preventing it from turning. So what part is needed to fix this?
For model number 79572053110
Hello Margie and thanks for writing.
It certainly sounds like a faulty bucket assembly PS11709701 you should check for signs of damage, and replace it if needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

will make ice manually but will not cycle through to make more. Motherboard was replaced, water inlet valve was replaced, and entire ice maker all replaced.
For model number LMXS30776D
Hello Herman, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, your model comes with primary and secondary water inlet valve. The secondary water inlet valve, part number PS11712338, specifically supplies water to the ice maker. If you have not replaced the secondary valve, we would recommend replacing it. Also check the ice maker's water supply lines for clogging. We hope this helps!
