Hello from Bryan Reynolds. Though I got the part I erred badly, I was warned that it may no be the fridge switch and that I must first check the light. After removing the old switch I replaced it with the new switch and was disappointed that the light never came on. I removed the old light and a friend that was helping me had a bulb. this friend removed the old bulb and replaced it with a new bulb. It worked. So I am contented that the new switch plus bulb are both working So it was my fault for not checking the light first. Thank you very much for your help and instructions. Regards, Bryan 16 May 2022. .

Erratic light.
Simple switch repair: Unplug fridge, pull down to remove switch assembly, slip contacts off. Reverse with replacement switch. HOWEVER, check first to see if the bulb filament might be broken, as this could cause the same symptom. OR in my case, the light socket connection was the culprit. Check that too before ordering a replacement switch.
