Easy repair, great part, worked as expected!
It was in great condition and came fast. My microwave is back working perfectly.
Note: separating the door on the microwave was next to impossible, but once that task was established, the rest of the fix was easy.

Works as Expected!
Yeah, the door handle works as expected. The installation was way more difficult than expected. My model does not have any videos or writen instructions anywhere so I had to use instructions from models that resemble what I have and also had to improvise and pry harder.

door handle arrival prompt. Paula great.
The part is great but wrong colour so I epoxied the old white handle hoping it will hold. Wanted white but no longer available. Can you suggest a white paint? Great service and receptionist. Thx, sad but satisfied customer.

Perfect part with fast delivery. Installation was more difficult than YouTube suggests since doorbacking needed to be forcefully pried off.
Fast and accurate delivery. Part was correct.

Door handle broke at bottom
First -- and this was the key to success -- I watched a couple of Youtube videos on "Replacing a microwave door handle". As one video suggested, I placed a large towel underneath where I was working (over the stovetop) to catch any falling parts but this proved unnecessary. Once I removed the two screws from the end of the door, the inside of the door pried off easily with a screwdriver. It did want to drop quickly though, so be ready to hang onto it. The handle was attached with two screws (which I reused, no problem). It took a few minutes to re-insert the inside of the door into the frame, but once that's done, you just re-install the two end screws and you're finished.

replace cracked microwave handle
Don't order the two screws. They are common screws you probably have in your garage.
After unhinging the microwave door, be carefeul taking the door apart. Do it over a kitchen counter covered by a towel padding. It came apart suddenly and half of it fell on the floor, but didn't break.

broken handle
I read previous hints on how to replace. All suggested using tile wedges removing the inner locking piece which would likely result in some broken tabs. I tried removing this inner piece and was sure the tabs would break. I removed the three screws on the handle side of the door and used a skinny flat head screw driver between the outer skin and both the inner piece and the glass section came out together. Access to the screws attaching the handle were accessible. With the screws out, the inner piece can fall off, remove it, replace the handle and the inner piece re attaches with no breakage.

Broken handle
After looking at several UTube videos it was straightforward. The door had to be taken apart which wasn’t easy. The front door had to be taken apart. Then it was easy…:-)

Handle busted as it is made of plastic. If i order a replacement one, is there anything special about installing.
For model number KHMS155LSS
Hi Allen,
Thank you for your question. No, there is nothing extra or special about the replacement. You just have to gently pry the back panel trim of your door from the front panel to reveal the screws that hold the handle in. You do not even have to remove your door from the appliance. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair!

My handle is completely broken off of microwave. Now I have these two white plastic tips sticking out that looks like the handle snapped onto. If I purchase a new handle do new plastic tips come with it? Because the tips are broken a bit also.
For model number Khms155lss3
Hi Mike,
Thank you for the question. Without seeing the tips it sounds like you are describing the parts that fit inside the handle that the screws would attach to. If this is the case then use they come with the handle its self.
Good luck with the repair!

I have removed the outer plastic ring but the screws are not visible. How do i remove the inner parts of the door to get to the two screws?
For model number KHMS155LSS1
Hi Bob, Thank you for the question. You just have to gently pry the back panel trim of your door from the front panel to reveal the screws that hold the handle in. You can use a plastic putty knife or a similar tool that is thin enough to fit in the channel between the two panels. Hope this helps!

Can the handle to this microwave be replaced diy, without extensive dismantling of the door?
For model number 8184264
Hi Annette,
Thank you for your question. You would have to dismantle your door to be able to replace that part. There is no other way to get to the screws that hold your handle into place. Good luck with your repair.

I am trying to find a door handle for Maytag microwave.
For model number MMV5165BAS
Hello Peter, Thank you for the question. The Handle for this model was only sold as part of the door assembly. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued sorry. There are no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

Door handle of the microwave has broken off. Date of this model is july 2005. Serial number of the microwave is sz925802. The circles on the micorwave door to which the handle attaches are flat. Is it easy to attach the replacement handle ? Are their posts to attach to or just gluing of flat to flat surfaces?
For model number KHMS155LSS-2
Hello William, thank you for your question. There are no posts or anything, the ends of the handle are flat. You just have to gently pry the back panel trim of your door from the front panel to reveal the screws that hold the handle in. You do not even have to remove your door from the appliance. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair!
