Is this the part that catches water from freezer self defrost?

HOW IS WATER REMOVED FROM THE DRAIN PAN? IS IT EVAPORATED BY HEAT OR A FAN. CAN WATER ACCUMULATE AND BREED INSECTS? IS IT EASY TO ACCESS FROM THE BACK OR FRONT OF THE REFRIGERATOR?

Hi Michael, thank you for reaching out. Usually, the condensate drain goes to a drip tray. Then air is moved by a fan over the condenser coil, which warms the air, then it is directed over the surface of the drip tray. This evaporates the condensate water and dissipates it into the room. But sometimes water remains in the drip tray and accumulates. Which may cause unpleasant smell and leakage. You may then need to clean the drip tray manually. The drip tray can easily be accessed from the back of the refrigerator. We hope this solves your problem!
