Grill was cracked and Filter was wearing Out
First I removed the old air/grease filter from the exhaust fan. It get washed monthly, so after several years of use, it was time to replace it. Once the old filter was removed, I opend the new filter package, slide the new filter into the filter slot from left to right. Once in all the way, I slide it back to the right to set it completely.
Second I began work on the cracked grill. I removed the phillips head screw on the left side of the grill, then removed the phillips head screw on the right side of the grill. I pulled the old grill off straight out. I opened the new grill package. I started to install the new grill by insert the bottom part first, then insert the top tabs and guide second, make sure I pushed slightly on the grill so it seated top and bottom at the same time. I installed both phillips head screws, left and right side, and completed the job.

Can the grease filter be cleaned to prolong its use and if so, what do you recommend for this purpose
For model number HVM1540LP1CS
Hello George, thank you for inquiring. Boil water in a large pot or pan and slowly add a cup of baking soda and a few teaspoons of dish soap. Let the Grease Filter soak in this for awhile and use an old toothbrush or something similar to touch it up after soaking it. Rinse it and let it dry. We hope you find this helpful.

Message “reset filter”.What should i do.???
For model number JVM6175SK2SS
Hello John, thank you for your question. If the control panel has a reset filter button, press and hold the filter reset button until it resets. If it does nothing, the charcoal filter, and grease filters should be replaced. I hope this helps!

I need a charcoal filter for the exhaust under the microwave (over the range) as I don't have an outside vent. The grease filter I have is about 13" long and 5.75" wide. I ordered the charcoal filter that is shown in your parts page wb02x11536 but it is too small to fit in the exhaust slot. When I submitted this question few minutes ago, I was told to order the part ps3510489. When I looked it up, it is the same part that I received and am returning. Please tell me if you have a charcoal filter that I can use instead of the grease filter.
For model number JVM6172SF1SS
Hi Vibhakar, Thank you for the question. The only filter made for under the appliance is the grease filter, the charcoal filters are only made to fit above the microwave behind the vent grill. Hope this helps!
