No power no noises no lights , plug has power , how to start?
For model number 79579302900
PartSelect logo
Hi Konrad, Thank you for your question. We would suggest testing your run capacitor and your start relay. If both of those parts are working, you may have to look into your control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Will either the run capacitor or the start relay keep the lights from going on? The wiring diagram on the back of the refrigerator shows an inline fuse just after the power chord but it is not listed in the parts inventory. Is this fuse available for purchase?
PartSelect logo
Hi Alan, Thank you for your question. Any fuse that you have on your appliance might actually be part of your control board and would only be available for purchase with that part. You may need to double check with your manufacturer directly. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My LG refrigerator/freezer (freezer only) intermittently gets warm for 4 days and freezes for 3 days . No ice in ice maker when it is in the warm cycle (ice cream softens). I replaced the following: Ice maker, compressor, 2 computer boards and thermistor. Fan is working, air intake and outgo are good. What else should I look at. The appliance is about 7 years old. Although problems existed from day #1. I'm thinking maybe the compressor start relay. Need to know if there is a video on how to repair if this is the part. Unless there are other suggestions. Thank you.
For model number LFX259798ST/00

Hi Tricia, Thank you for your question. If the freezer is too warm, you should check the defrost system, the compressor, the condenser fan motor and the electronic control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Where is the compressor relay located? Why does the relay keep going?
For model number LMX25981ST
PartSelect logo
Hello Al, Thank you for your inquiry. The start relay attaches to the compressor and helps start the compressor motor. You can check it with a multimeter to see if it is faulty. Hope this helps!

If the freezer is correct temp but refrigerator is warm could it be the compressor start relay
PartSelect logo
Hi Allen, Thank you for your question. If your refrigerator is too warm, depending on the model you have, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the air inlet damper or baffle, the evaporator fan motor, the temperature control thermostat, the electronic control board, the condenser fan motor, and the start relay and overload. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
