Fire in microwave melted several parts
Remove the filters and use a Torx driver to remove two screws holding the motor. The wires on on the motor are held in place by a plastic clamp that must be pried open on one side. That's all it takes to replace the drive motor. Everything else that makes the turntable spin lifts off from inside the microwave.

My microwave , will not turn on, even though the light and fan are working. How do i figure out what i need to repair this, or have a repairman do it ? Where do i find a KitchenAid repairman ? Please get back with me, thank you for your time.
For model number KHMS2050SSS2
Hi Frances,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest checking your door switches, it sounds like they may not be registering that your door is closed and it is okay for your appliance to start running. You can test those parts with a multi meter. They should read closed to 0 ohms to be working correctly. Good luck with your repair.
