Fairly easy to install.
It was fairly easy to install but did require some more work than I expected. And I thought it was a tad expensive for a simple piece of plastic. But overall I’m happy!

The part was exactly what I wanted. Manufacturer's spec's. Took me 10 mins to install. I am a retired technician. Delivery was delayed by a somewhat round about route.

Water leaking from inflow water tube at the water filter housing.
The CAUSE of the LEAK were the O-rings on the water filter itself. My son followed others suggestions on how to detach the water hose from the filter housing, advise was helpful. After replacing the water filter housing, helpful, and inflow water tube the leak was still there. So my son then inspected the water filter and replaced. Water filter light was still green so we did not think it needed attention.

Drinking water dispenser was flowing very slowly.
I first replaced the housing holding the water filter because during my effort to diagnose the problem I couldn't get the friction fittings to seal back up and they kept leaking. I hoped that replacing the filter housing would affect the flow problem but it didn't. I then replaced the valve. The replacement part was a little different in design than the original part but wasn't too difficult to figure out. My guess is that the original valve has some kind of electric solenoid that wasn't opening all the way. New value solved the problem. No special tools or techniques were required. Just had to unplug water lines and electrical connectors and figure out the way to plug the new valve in.

The filter holder needed to be replaced because it was leaking
I followed the instruction video and it is very straight forward. My biggest problem was disconnection the 2 tubes that insert into the filter holder. Once I disconnected it from the front, I couldn't pull it far enough forward to get good access to manipulate those tubes. I had to pull the refrigerator out from the wall to get access to the back. On the back, there is another part you can unscrew where the other end of the tubes are connected. Once you've done this, you can pull the filter holder forward and release those tubes. Then attach the tubes to the new filter holder and reinstall everything.

Water leaking at the water filter housing where smallest line connects to housing
Turned off water to refrigerator. Unplugged refrigerator.
Removed front lower grille- pull gently on each end.
Remove water filter.
Remove screws from housing and from support bail.
Push on round connector at water line and gently pull water line out of housing. Same for other line.
Check ends of each water line for roughness or cracks, cut off if needed.
Reinstall in reverse order and check for leaks.
It may be easier on some modeled to remove refrigerator rear lower panel to access water inlet valve so you can remove these same 2 water lines from this valve then remove them with the filter housing all at one time then check your water lines before installing on new housing and feed lines back to the water inlet valve and reconnect them.
BE SURE REFRIGERATOR IS UNPLUGGEDAND WATER TO REFRIGERATOR IS TURNED OFF BEFORE MAKING THESE REPAIRS!

I have just replaced the water line to the filter housing as per video. The filter housing is leaking badly where the 5/16 fitting goes into the housing. What solutions can you provide? If the filter housing needs replacing can I use the new waterline I just purchased? Thanks for your assistance.
For model number ksr125fnwh00
Hi Mark, Thank you for the question. You will need to replace the filter housing, Part Number: PS11739083 since the fittings are not sold separately. The water line can be used with the new filter housing. Hope this helps!

How do i replace the waterline going directly to the ice maker i see where it goes into the back of the refrigeratoron top of the back panel i don't know how to get access to it ?
For model number gs5shaxnl00
Hello Terry, Thank you for your inquiry. Part# WP2256096 is the ice maker water inlet tube and fitting. These instructions may not apply step by step to your model, but are to give you a general idea of the procedure. Pull out the fridge and remove the rear access panel at the bottom with a 1/4 inch nut driver. Remove the screws at the bottom holding the line at the bottom and use a 5/16 wrench to push on the locking collar and disconnect the line from the water valve-you may need to pull the valve out. You may want to put a towel down to catch any leaking water. Now move to the front of the fridge and open the freezer door. Remove the shelves, and remove the cover over the ice maker. Use the 1/4 nut driver to remove the screw at the bottom right of the ice maker and remove a cover that is there. Using a flat blade screw driver, press on the locking tab on the left side of the ice maker and pull it out, close the flapper door and pull out the ice maker assembly, then use the screw driver to disconnect the ice maker wiring harness. You should now be able to see the fill tube of the ice maker, which is what you would need to pull out. Rock the fitting from side to side and gently pull it loose. Slowly pull it down, and make note that it is installed sideways. Keep pulling until the supply tube is completely out. Thread the tube of the new supply line into the opening, you should be able to see it come out of the hole at the back, and keep pushing it through until you can place the nozzle in sideways. You make need to go to the back of the fridge and gently tug at the tube if the nozzle will not go all the way in. Once it is back in place, reconnect the icemaker harness and replace the icemaker, making sure the tip of the tube is over the water inlet cup. Put the cover on, and replace the screws, and slide the access door back on. Replace the shelf. Now go to the back of the fridge and push the end of the supply line into the water inlet valve, making sure it is tight. Replace the water valve and retainer clip. Re-install the access panel. Hope this helps!

I have a Kenmore elite and I use water filter 46 9030. I have been using this water filter for about 15 years, no issue until recently. When I placed a new filter the water tasted like chemical. I've removed it temporarily. I am trying to find out why that happened. Would you please explain this. Thank you.
For model number Kemore Elite
Hi Ash,
Thank you for your question. If you recently replaced your water filter and you did not flush it before use, this would account for the chemical taste you experienced. There are videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to flush a water filter, but for information related to your refrigerator, you will need to consult your owner's manual. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
