Product Description
Fold Away Tine Pivot Specifications
The fold away tine pivot or clip holds the tine rows in place. This part is made of gray plastic and is approximately 3 and a half inches in length. Some dishwasher models will have fold away tine rows, so you can easily accommodate larger items. The fold away tine pivot can be disconnected to fold down these tines. If the pivot is damaged or missing, the tines will not remain upright when they are returned to that position. Most dishwasher models will have two tine pivots per rack. However, this product is sold individually.

Didn't spray water.
Inside the Dishwasher on the bottom of unit, I removed the dish cart. The removed the sprayer arm with an adjustable wrench on the plastic nut on the center top. Then removed the top three screws with a Torx 20 screw driver and removed the plastic cover, then removed the single screw above the black plastic water pump piece and took it off. Then removed the six additional screws that were then displated after the previous cover was exposed. Finally I unscrewed the ivory colored plastic shaft which holds the food processor blade from the metal motor shaft with a adjustable wrench. Upon inspecting the ivory plastic shaft I noticed that the threads were stripped inside it. Which means it didn't turn when the motor would turn and wouldn't drive the water pump.
I ordered the replacements and noticed that the replacement for the plastic ivory colored shaft was a metal shaft. It had new pieces as the food processor blade had notiches in new places. The kid had all the replacement parts and a good set of instructions for what to replace and where it would go.
Then I assembled the washer as I had taken it apart. And it worked perfectly the first time. It has been repaired and working for a few weeks now without incident.

The fold away pivots broke when used, wheel flange wore off
The fold away pivots assebly is held in place by spring energy from the rack it is clipped into. It kept coming unclipped so I taped one in place to hold it to the rack and then positioned the other clip. Glad I ordered 2 new clips because the surviviing original clip broke easily. I'll never fold it away again.
The wheel assembly was the reverse of removal and took a matter of seconds.

The plastic bits in the dishwasher's drawers eventually break incl the bottom "mesh" of the flatware basket
These parts snap in and out by hand, except the flatware basket of course. After getting the new parts I will mention two things: 1) the two halves of the flatware basket are symmetrical; i.e., you can use two of either basket PN as long as you don't care about how the basket is divided (one side has two sections and the other has three); 2) the replacement parts seem to be made of stronger/more flexible plastic (either the material degrades over time from the heat and detergent, or maytag had enough early product life warranty claims on the pastic bits that they improved the material).

I couldn't fint the part any where--EXCEPT at PARTSELECT.com
I needed a simple clip for a fold-away dishwasher rack. MAYTAG was NO HELP--except they did supply me the right part number that MAYTAG posted on websites in error. MAYTAG said they could not ship it to me--not a consumer item!! Well, I found the part at PARTSELECT.com, I had it in three days and installed it in about 10 minutes. Our clip has been broken for 2 years and it ended up being a 10 minute fix!! GREAT JOB PARTSELECT.com!!!!

Broken wheel on rack adjuster and broken tine pivot
The diagrams on the web-site were very useful. Slid the entire upper rack out, by removing he snap-in slide stops on both sides. Unscrewed the cover to the upper rack adjuster on the side with the broken wheel. Replaced the new rack adjuster and discarded the broken one. Washed the food residue from the cover to the upper rack adjuster. Placed to old cover onto the new rack adjuster. Replaced the upper rack on the slide tracks. Replaced both snap-in slide stops on the slide tracks. Removed the broken fold away tine pivot. Replaced the new fold away tine pivot.
Saved the second unneeded tine pivot for future use.

Broken pivot for fold away times in dishwasher
The plastic pivot for the folding tines had broken some time ago which allowed the tines to loose and out of control. It was a simple matter to remove the broked pivot which snaps out and snap in the new one. It is designed to be snapped in, in a particular sequence. I had purchased a latch as well just in case the old one had been worn or bent but it is working fine. I will keep the latch as a spare.

The original tine pivot had broken.
Mixed feelings here. The video was helpful and the part fit like it was supposed to. No tools needed. But the tines in my dishwasher are not tall enough to reach the pivot so the problem isn't solved.
