refrigerator was not getting cold
For the defrost control board, it is a really easy replacement on my model Maytag refrigerator, all you have to do locate the freezer/refrig, cooling controls in the main part of frig and remove the control knobs by pulling them of by hand, for the cover use 1/4 socket with a socket wrench or socket screw driver to remove the cover, after that you will see a panel cover that you have to unclip by hand and that is where your control board is located and at this point it's just plug and play. just reassemble in reverse order. I changed my overload relaywith start capaciter out also when I changed my defrost control board. To change the relay out, first remove the lower panel on the rear base of the frig. and this is where you will find the relay pluged into the round black compressor, simply unplug the old and plug the new in, it's just that simple!

Fridge side not cold when freezer is blasting cold
I knew it was either the thermostat or defrost control board. Checked resistance with multimeter across the thermostat and heater element. Both check out ok so I replaced the board and all is good. Board on my model was in the controls panel.

If only lights come on in refrigerator and no prior symptoms of not cooling properly or clicking noise. Just stopped doing anything all at once with only lights now working, what part would most likely need replaced? Compressor, start capacitor or electric control board? Thanks, paulette
For model number MSD2352KES
Hi Paulette, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

with the cube Ice light on and putting a glass in to get ice, the refrig makes a loud noise that comes from the control board area and will continue makeing the noise until you open the freezer door and the noise will stop but no ice comes out the chute, and the auger drive turns when you check you try it with the ice container empty or out any help
For model number MSD2351HEB
Hi Karl,
Thank you for your question. If you are switching from crushed to cubed ice, it is normal to get a small amount of crushed ice at first. When you switch to cubed ice, a lever behind the ice bucket opens a flap to allow cubed ice to be dispensed. If an ice cube gets caught behind the ice bucket, it can prevent the lever from working. You will need to remove the ice bucket and remove any ice that may have fallen behind it. If there are no ice cubes behind the bucket, try dispensing ice with the bucket removed. Shut the refrigerator door and press the ice dispenser. You are doing this to see if you hear a loud snapping noise. If there is no snapping noise, service will be needed. If you hear a snapping noise, reinsert the bucket and try cubed ice again. If cubed ice is not dispensed, then check the ice bucket to see if the ice in it has frozen together. If it has frozen together, dump it out and clean the bucket. Reinsert the bucket and try the dispenser again. The noise may also be caused by the auger motor when it tries to push the ice out. You will need to inspect it to make sure it is working properly. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!
