I could not put a new filter in.
I took the side cover off. With a Phillips unscrewed the screw, took the outer part off, with nut driver undid the two screws. Took the part out in screwed the 4 Phillips head screws. Took out the broken part, replaced with new part. Reassembled. Put filter in and it now works perfectly.

Water filter would not disconnect from OEM Water Filter Base
Disconnect the two water supply tubes at the base of the Water Filter Base. Using a 7/16" open end wrench, press up on the blue "O" rings to disconnect the tubes. Use a Using an 8" long magnetic phillips head screw driver I was able to unscrew the 4 short screws holding the original water filter base and the immovable attached water filter. Replacement was easy. Simply slide the new base into the fixed slot on the refrigerator and reinstall the 4 holding screws. Reconnect the water supply tubes to the Water Filter Base. Install a new water filter.

Having a problem with both ice maker and water dispenser not getting water. Have replaced water inlet, and filters a few times each. Still having issues. Could it be the filter base not allowing water to flow?
For model number FFHS2313LM9
Hello Jaime, Thank you for the question. If there is water getting to the filter but not leaving the filter and the filter is good, It could be the base. You can also check to make sure the water lines after the filter base are not frozen or have air. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

I ordered and replaced water filter base (a genuine OEM part.) But the Frigidaire Pure Source Ultra Water & Ice Refrigerator Filter ULTRAWF that says genuine Filters on the box will still not lock into the receptacle.
For model number FGHC2331PFCA
Hi Johnny,
Thank you for your question. If the new water filter is not locking into place, compare it to the old water filter and make sure they are the same size. Also make sure to remove the cap from the inlet on the new filter. If the water filter is fine, inspect the water filter base to make sure it is installed correctly. If the water filter base is installed correctly and the water filter will still not go in, you may have received a defective water filter base and it will need to be replaced. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

Hi Alan,
Thank you for your question. I would check the water filter base, usually this issue is caused by the water inlet valve, but you should also check the base. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Water Filter was so difficult to remove and new one was tough to put in but I managed. But still no ice. Will changing the water filter base do the job? How do I turn the water off on my fridge? I guess I have to do that before removing the two water valves? Thank you for giving me as many details about the procedure that you can.
For model number FGHN2866PFDA
Hello Louise, thank you for reaching out. Before replacing the water filter base, we would recommend checking the water inlet valve, part number PS7784018, to fix the issue. In order to turn off the water supply to the refrigerator, you may need to turn off the water to the refrigerator at the household shutoff valve. We hope this solves your problem!
