Copper lines leaking freon
Removed the inside evaporator coil to do inside solder job, use torch to heat solder joints on the outside drier in order to remove it and install new drier. Soldered Heat exchanger line to drier and 1/4” copper line to compressor. Wrapped with new insulation wrap. Pulled a vacuum on system and then charged with 4.4 ounces of 134a freon. This upright freezer will run for a few days then just shut off, we have to unplug it to get it restarted. My question is could the heat exchanger cause this?
For model number FFU17F5HWD
Hello Gene,
Thanks for your question. This could be an issue with the run capacitor for your compressor. It may be worthwhile to test that and the heat exchanger with a multimeter to see if they have continuity and replace them if they show no continuity.
I hope this helps.

My freezer will not cool below 30 degrees when set to zero would this part fix the issue
For model number LFFH21F7HWA
Hello Cameron, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat,PartSelect Number PS2350702. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps!

Is it easier and recommended to replace the heat exchanger when replacing the evaporator in the fridge?
For model number FRU19F8RFC
Hello Kelly, thank you for contacting us. Replacing the heat exchangers is not necessary when replacing the evaporator coils. The heat exchanger coils connect the evaporator coils to the condenser coils. It will require considerable disassembly of the refrigerator. We hope this helps.
