Original gate broke at the swivel point
I removed the old gate by using a flat head screw driver to pry open mouth. I then removed 2 bolts that held on the cage that hols the ice crushing blades. Then I inserted the new gate and used a screw driver to pry the mouth open again (it was more difficult to insert than remove). I then popped in the new gate and re-assembled the cage. It worked on the first shot with no problems!

Ice Director Door Broken In Half
I was able to replace the housing by only removing the front cover, the e-ring and washer and the 3 hex-head screws. I was able to work the old housing around to get the actuator arm off and then get it properly inserted into the new housing. Attach the new housing, IMPORTANT: make sure you get the fixed-blades and spacer assembly in the slot of the housing that holds them in place, replace the e-ring and washer, check that the actuator arm operates the door properly and replace the front cover. The videos can be helpful but these shortcuts will save some time.

The ice dispenser stopped dispensing crushed ice. The whole ice pieces then backed up in the dispensing hole and a piece of white plastic came out with it. Does that piece help with the crushing and can it be replaced? What is it? Thanks
For model number FGUS2642LF1
Hello Susan, thank you for your question. The white plastic piece probably came from the ice bucket itself. We would recommend removing the ice bucket and inspecting it over to find the broken part. Look at the auger, and the front and back round pieces that push the ice. The part that allows for crushed or cubed to be dispensed is PartSelect Number: PS8691994. To fix the issue of the unit only dispensing the whole pieces of ice this part should be replaced. I hope this helps!

Does the dispenser crusher housing come with the little door shown as #13 in the diagram? It does not specifically show it in the product photos and the little door is what broke on my dispenser.
For model number FGHS2655PF5A
Hi Paula, thank you for your question. Part 13 is now part of the housing, so you would need this part. Good luck with your repair.

Frigidaire, side by side, the ice maker auger won't stop running when I close freezer side door unless I press the lock button. What is happening, I'm worried!?
For model number PLHS69EESS2
Hello Thomas, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the micro switches in the dispenser, PartSelect Number PS12724042 to see if one is stuck in the on position and causing the dispenser to try and dispense ice. Hope this helps!

Do you sell the 1/4" hex head screws labeled #25 and the phillip's screws labeled #26 of your ice container assembly diagram?

Hello Doug, Thank you for the question. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued sorry. There are no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

Hi. When i press for ice, it works, but it's too loud (sort of grindy, squeaky sound). Also, the crushed ice doesn't work any more. When i look carefully at it, the dispenser crusher housing is cracked badly. I'm fine with ordering a new one, but i wonder if my noise problem/no crushed ice is a bigger problem. Should i buy the entire assembly instead of just the crusher housing? Thanks. Jeff
For model number FFHS2622MSN
Hello Jeff, Thank you for the question. If the housing is damaged it can cause the blades and internal parts will not be able to operate properly, causing the noise and no crushed ice. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

When you press the ice dispenser it keeps building up ice in the bin on the inside of the door and then the ice gets stuck. You have to put your hand up in there to get the ice to come out and then if all comes out and flys everywhere. Will this part fix that
For model number FGHS2631PF4A
Hello Sandy, thank you for inquiring. Yes, this replacement Dispenser Crusher Housing for your model may fix the issue. You may also want to consider either the Drive Blade part PS1526405 or the Crushed/Cubed Ice Solenoid Assembly part PS8691994 for your model. We hope this helps.

Only makes crushed ice will not dispense whole cubes
For model number FRS26R4AB6
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest taking a look at your cubed/crushed ice solenoid. It could be that part is acting up. I have listed that part in a link down below for you. You can test it with a multi meter to see if it is working properly or not. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I repaired my icemaker. Put in the part listed. But i don't know if i put the spring on the auger back in the correct position. I don't understand why you don't show a picture of the correct position for the spring, but you don't! You don't show the correct position in the video. There were at least two ways to position it. Now my ice dispenser only dispenses cubes. No crushed ice any more. When i push for crushed ice, i get cubes. Oh well, i guess i'll have to live with it since you won't show the correct position for the spring. Dispenser crusher housing
Hi Shannon,
Thank you for your question. If you are talking about the spring that goes on the bottom of the bucket near the back, there is only one way for that spring to be installed. You would have to install it horizontally with the screw hole tab facing out. If you go to minute 9:07 in the video, you will see how that part is supposed to be installed. It sounds like your solenoid is constantly activated in the back, because the default setting for ice in your machine is crushed ice. I would suggest just checking to make sure you reinstalled your ice bucket into your freezer correctly. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
