Great replacement part
This water inlet valve came in good time. It was Easy to install, but my ice maker is still not working. The ice maker is not getting water from this water inlet valve. I wonder if the ice maker has to be working in order for water to be pumped up (transferred) from this inlet valve. Water is definitely coming to this inlet valve, and the hose from the inlet valve to the ice maker is not plugged. If anyone can help me with this problem, it will be well appreciated. Thank you.

Need new part again.
This part was defective and leaked after installation. It is right on the part where the blue connectors are. It’s where the line attaches. My husband used a connector from our reverse osmosis to fix it. At least we now have ice.

part worked well and partselect service was very good
Part was exact and quick to arrive. The only unexpected side effect was an odd taste to the water which I attributed to the newness. This disappeared gradually after 3 days of use.The big surprise was the how to instal video supplied by partselect , something I did not ask for but was an excellent example of customer service above and beyond, congrats deserved

Simple replacement, worked as expected.
When my water dispenser stopped working, I thought this would be a hard job. But turns out it was pretty simple. All the water tube match the size and color on the valve so there's nothing hard there. If you water doesn't flow, you may have to replace either: 1) the inlet valve, 2) the filter or filter base, 3) your water line is frozen in the door. If #3 buy a syringe with a catheter kit online and add some hot water... ice will melt and line will be flowing again.

water leaking out of refrigerator
In my specific appliance the water valve is located in the bottom right hand corner looking at it from the back. To get to it I remove the thin layer of cardboard the covers the back of the fridge. I then proceeded to disconnect the 1/4" copper tubing which is the water feed coming out of the wall. Then I removed the screws that hold the valve assembly in place. I took the water valve out and removed the electrical connections as well as the plastic tubing which feed the water dispenser and the ice maker. To install the new water valve it was just a matter of reversing steps.

icemaker stopped making ice
Even though my wife said that our icemaker broke, there was actually nothing wrong with it. It was the valve that let water flow in during the 'harvest' cycle.
A real easy way to test the icemaker without voltage and current measurements, is to fill the tray by hand with a little cup of water; wait till the water freezes and see if the maker dumped the ice into the bin.

Water Dripping from through the door water outlet and Ice Maker doesn't make ice.
I had two problems, the first was that water was dripping from the through the door outlet and the second problem is that the ice maker wasn't making ice.
Replacing the water valve was a simple process:
1. Turn off the water to the fridge at the household shutoff valve.
2. Move the fridge away from the wall.
3. Unplug the mains power (AC) plug from the wall power outlet.
4. Remove the 5 screws with a nut driver that hold the cardboard backing off the refrigerator.
5. (This is a great time to vacuum off the coils and underside of the fridge.) Disconnect the water supply from household plumbing with a box end wrench or channel lock pliers. I kept a large plastic cup and rag handy for the left over water in these hoses.
6. Remove the two screws from the water valve bracket on the right hand side and pull the water valve straight back from the fridge and line up the new valve in the same orientation.
7. Remove all the color coded electrical connectors (3 of them) and attach them to the new water valve.
8. Remove the remaining water hoses and attach them to the corresponding connectors on the new valve.
9. Dispose of the old valve and reinstall the new valve in reverse order.
The problem with the ice maker not making ice was because water was flowing so slowly from the valve that it was stopping in the fill tube at the back of the freezer and freezing stopping all water flow into the ice maker. I pulled the fill tube out of the back of the freezer from behind by rotating it 45 degrees counter clockwise and pulling straight out removing the ice blockage and drying the fill tube before I reinstalled.
Since I replaced the valve I had to take the cover off of the icemaker and set the water fill level down (screw toward the minus sign) and then adjusted it by checking the ice after each time it dropped and increasing the fill amount by 1 full turn (roughly 0.7 ounces) until it was just enough to make fully formed ice cubes.

Water was leaking from the valve/pump for the icemaker
Remove the screws that hold the old valve to the side of the refrigerator. Next, detach each plastic tube and attach that tube to the same place on the new valve, and repeat (there are many valves). Afterward, I realized that many of the plastic tubes had become brittle and had mineral deposits, so I bought additional tubing for ice makers and replaced each tube, one at a time.

Water valve had broken
Repair was very easy - and to my great delight, they have replaced the old-style compression fittings with PEX push-fittings. You just clip the old compression ring and nut off the tubing and insert the tubing firmly into the fitting. SNAP! VOILA! PEX fittings are the greatest things since sliced bread. I used it to plumb my new house.

Ice maker quit making ice
turned off water supply at water line to fridge. removed two hex head screws @ bottom of rear of appliance that hold the water valve in place.
Simply moved color coded elect. plugs from old one to new one, same with water lines. Only difference is, the replacement one I got uses push in water lines and my original was compression fit. No problem though, just cut the nipple off of original line going into new valve and you are good to go. Might want to have an extra 1/'4" brass compression washer though for the one remaining line. Whole process I did on my lunch break at home less than 30 minutes.
Only problem though was nothing changed. Spoke with service man over the phone and he said MOST of the time it is water freezing up in the inlet tube top of machine, inside. Remove water line from rear outside on top behind freezer and with a straw try to blow through, if it is froze it will not go through. Mine did not go through. Used hair dryer inside freezer in back on incoming line 5-10 minutes, thawed out, makes ice. Go figure. Changing valves was easy and well described as stated, just not necessary in my case, but now I know. Thanks, Warren in Iowa

ice maker cycling properly but not getting water on fill cycle
1.Unplugged appliance. Removed rear access panel, turned off water supply valve, removed two screws holding water valve assembly in place.
2. Removed and drained all water lines.
3. Removed three electric solenoid wiring connections.
4.Cut and marked all water lines to facilitate new connecting procedure (instructions provided with the new valve assembly).
5. Inserted the water lines into the new valve by applying a bit of vaseline on tubing end prior to pushing lines into O-ring fittings.
6. Clean the embarassing dust from under the appliance!!!
Note: All lines, wiring, and valves were color-coded to prevent connecting to wrong lines and electric solenoids.
Note: Be sure to remove water inlet supply trough to rear of ice-maker. This tube may freeze solid and prevent water from filling freeze tray. This is done by turning the inlet pipe on the back of the cabinet 1/4 turn and retracting from cabinet.

Water coming out of the ice maker when dispensing water from the door.
This issue was noted in the advice area as being a filter, or valve assembly. But it turned out to be a diode kit that was causing this issue. I don't know why I could not find this issue anywhere on line? When I received the diode kit there was instructions that noted exactly the problem I was having.
The fix was easy just a few wires cut and spliced and viola fixed.

Ice maker works but no water out of front. Took apart and actuator is clicking against the electronic part like its supposed to. How can i be sure the issue is the inlet valve before i spend $50 on it?
For model number FFHS2312NS3
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your question. To verify if the water inlet valve is causing the issue, you will need to test it with a multimeter. Before you begin to test your icemaker's water inlet valve, make sure you disconnect the appliance's power supply. The easiest way to do this is to unplug the unit from the wall. Alternatively, you could trip the appropriate switch in the circuit breaker panel, or you could remove the appropriate fuse from your home's fuse box. Consult with an appliance repair technician if you do not feel you have the skill or the ability to successfully complete this test. Locate your icemaker's water inlet valve, it is typically located behind a refrigerator. Gently pull your refrigerator away from the wall. You may want to place scraps of carpet, of some other soft material below the fridge to prevent damage to the floor. Turn of the water valve's water supply by closing the shut-off valve in the waterline leading to the water valve. Remove the lower access panel on the back of the refrigerator using a screwdriver or a nut driver. Place a container under the valve to catch any water that may spill from the water valve and its fill tube. Remove the water valve's fill tubing. Loosen the flare nut on the brass fitting that is found on the inlet side of the water valve. You can use a wrench to loosen the flare nut. Your water inlet valve is held in place on your refrigerator by means of a metal bracket. Use a screwdriver or a nutdriver to remove the screw that holds the water valve's bracket to the refrigerator cabinet. Gently pull the water valve out of the cabinet, and remove the tube from the outlet port. There are two wires connecting to the terminals of your water inlet valve. If yours is a double solenoid water valve, it will have four wires. Be sure to label each wire so that you know where to reconnect them later. Firmly grasp the metal connector of the wires in order to remove the wires. You may need to use a pair of needle-nosed pliers. Do not pull on the wires themselves.
Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. If the test you conduct with your icemaker water inlet valve does not produce these results, then you should replace the component. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Was having problems with a faulty water valve so I replaced it but now it seems to dispense water every half hour or so without anyone hitting the dispenser. I know if water is leaking out of the icemaker assembly that usually means a faulty water valve but how about out of the water dispenser itself?

How to test ice water valve or verified ice water valve if its good. Thanks
For model number FRS6R5ESBB
Hi Jacques,
Thank you for your question. You can test the solenoids on your valve with a multi meter. When testing your part, your solenoids should read any where between 500 and 1500 ohms of resistance. If it does not, or if your meter numbers do not shift at all, then you will need to replace your part. Good luck with your repair.

My ice maker makes ice, but when water is dispensed into the ice tray it overflows into the ice holder then out front of frig. Why is it overflowing?
For model number FFHS2622MYSA
Hello Chris, Thank you for the question. The most common issue would be the water inlet valve becoming stuck open and not closing properly and causing the ice maker to over flow. Sounds like your valve is defective and needs to be replaced. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Hello Jay, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking or replacing the Water Inlet Valve, PartSelect Number: PS7784018. Sounds like it is stuck open and allowing water to flow to the dispenser and overfill the filter causing the leak. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Hello Ernie, thank you for your question. It sounds like the water valve is not functioning properly. Water very slow
For model number FGUS2642LF1
Hi Laura, Thank you for the question. The slow water flow could be two things. I would first check the water filter. If it has not been changed in the last 6 months it can cause a blockage and slow water. If the filter is good the water inlet valve will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Icemaker assembly is leaking out water. Is that from the icemaker or the water valve not shutting?
Hi Malaya, it does sound like the valve is not shutting off fast enough. We recommend first checking the gear on the icemaker. If it is good then the valve is the problem. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
