Fridge Gasket Repair
This was not as easy to replace as I thought. Because this fridge is obsolete, I couldn’t find the exact instructions to replace. Eventually we got it installed and it works great. I was extremely happy with the fast delivery of my part, but wish there could be installation instructions included. I also did find it pricey. I would like to replace my other gasket, but do not want to spend even more money than this one. Overall, I recommend Part Select.

Ice is building up under the freezer door ( plastic shelf in door). Looks like there is a small gap where the gasket meets the bottom of the door. How do i fix this?

Hello Robin, thank you for your question. The freezer door gasket for this unit is PartSelect Number: PS9492371. To replace, you would pull the old gasket off and push the new gasket into the groove around the door. Be sure to warm up the gasket with a hair dryer or in a bath of hot water to get any kinks out of it before installing. I hope this helps!

Is this gasket 28 5\8 wide x 42 tall. Have had issues in the past with gaskets being too loose.

Hi John, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
