The Plastic Knob Broke And Wouldn't Grip The Steel Movement
All I did was put the three pieces together (1-2-3! So easy) and attached to the metal piece of the dryer. Now I can set the dryer to any temperature and time I need!

Timer knob broke from the middle.
Researched for the part numbers and found the parts needed. In this case the timer knob is made up of 3 separate pieces that easily snap together.

Washer would stop running during the wash cycle
1, Unplug unit from power outlet. 2, Removed 3 screws on the top back control console, 3, pushed bottom section back (standing in front) and tip top section foward, console then will lay flat on top of the washer, 4, remove wire connector, 5, remove 1/4 " screw lower left side, 6, lift locking tap up and slide timer to the left. 7, Set new timer in place and reverse the procedure starting with step 6.

knob not working and would not turn off dryer
Wow it was the easiest thing I have ever done.. I am NOT a DIY person.. Company wanted $108.00 to do, it cost me less than $20.00 and 2 minutes.. I have told everyone I know!!! Thanks

knob retainer hole was broken
Ordered the part..... waited a few days fro it to arrive, (it came quite quick considering). Sat down in my easy chair and assembled the knob and gave it to my wife to slip it on the dryer. Whew, I was beat.... hehe

broke the knob for dryer selection

Time Knob had broken
Removed clip that held timer knob in place, replaced timer know with new one and reinstalled clip. The snapped on the new cap. Took a whole minute to do.

door would not lock, knob broken
called SEARS told part not available any longer. Would have to purchase new dryer. Also told part could not be ordered from MAYTAG due to age. Called PART SELECT and had new parts in four days. Put new knob on, Placed door lock in hole, JOB DONE (15 minutes) saved $ 500 to $600 on new one. Wayne

the plastic piece that went over the metal timer D post cracked. Was not able to turn on timer without pliers
I ordered the timer base knob, timer knob insert cap and the timer dial skirt. We put all three pieces together and put it on the D metal timer post. Good as new!

I am replacing the timer but having difficulty in removing the timer knob. How do I remove the entire knob to remove the timer? You tube states to lift a tab on the back side of timer but my timer does not have such tab.
